They say success often comes from being in the right place at the right time. However, it can also come from being in the right place at the wrong time.
Connect with Nigel Wales on LinkedInNigel Wales, founder of Arrival Yachts has always known he wanted to go into business. His passion for deal making became apparent in the final year of his Naval Architecture degree, which focused on sponsorship in sailing.
He was probably in the wrong place at the right time starting tha family business in Andalucía. Although it quickly expanded to two offices and ten staff, selling over 50 new and secondhand boats a year, the harsh reality of not making a profit forced that venture to close. A heartbreaking decision after five years of working seven days a week!
Relocating to Mallorca was the obvious next step. This time he was in the right place... but at the wrong time. After seven years of gaining invaluable experience in brokerage and new boat sales for vessels up to 40 meters, Arrival Yachts was founded in early 2008. The year when the global economy collapsed entirely. The subsequent years brought incredible hardship to the marine industry and impacted many sectors.
However, the company survived thanks to relentless hard work, efficiency, integrity, and low overhead costs.
Today, 17 years later, Arrival Yachts stands as one of the few genuine boutique yacht brokerages and is a proud member of MYBA. They offer first-class global service tailored to their clients' unique requirements
Having sold numerous significant motor and sailing yachts while collaborating with many renowned brokerages and law firms, Arrival Yachts has earned the trust of their clients. The business likely reached a pivotal point around 2016, and today, their core focus on vessels ranging from 20 to 45 meters is evolving as they take on larger vessels for select long-term clients.
Based in Puerto Portals, the office is managed by Marta Stefaniak, along with Katerina Milotova as Sales Support and Joan Binimelis.
