Beach Clubs: Six of Ibiza’s Finest

Nassau Beach Club

A 500 metre stroll down Playa d’en Bossa takes you to Nassau Beach Club, a rather more refined affair. Celebrating its seventh anniversary in May this year, the venue is somewhat of a veteran amongst Ibiza’s beach clubs and offers a genuine five star experience.

By day, Nassau Beach is the perfect hangout to soak up the sun and sip a cocktail or two with friends, old and new. Lay back in oversized sunloungers or supersized daybeds and enjoy friendly VIP service such that you barely need to move a muscle to tuck into a platter of lobster and a refreshing flute of cava. Or, if the heat is on, the Restaurant offers welcome shade, mouth-watering food, a crisp glass or two of white, and relaxing chillout music. The turquoise Mediterranean is always on hand for a cooling dip, or pop to the Nassau Boutique to update your beachwear and accessories or to buy the latest Nassau music cd.

Nassau Beach’s nocturnal personality offers the perfect setting for a romantic dinner in the restaurant or Teppanyaki lounge. Combining science with cooking, the restaurant menu serves up molecular gastronomy-inspired dishes (think Heston Blumenthal, The Fat Duck) resulting in some unconventional yet tantalising contemporary plates. Sommeliers match wines and champagne to accompany. The Teppanyaki lounge is a little more relaxed, focussing on Mediterranean and Asian cuisine, with cocktail connoisseurs on hand to whisk up the perfect complement.

Appetites satiated and tables cleared, Nassau Beach Club then becomes a bonafide club with resident DJs spinning deep house until 2am, an amazing pre-Space warm-up. Events such as Disco Fever and Passion Night pepper the calendar throughout the season and expect a roadblock to get in as Nassau Beach’s exclusive and loyal clientele show up in their smart cars for a night of carefree class.
