Italian yacht builder, Admiral Tecnomar, is going from strength to strength. On top of a current 12 new already-sold yachts in build, the Group has recently finalised the purchase of the Nuovi Cantieri Apuania (NCA) yard in Carrara, Italy and is in the process of revamping the facilities to create a boatbuilding and refit hub of considerable scope.

Set at the heart of the Italian shipbuilding coastline, between La Spezia and Viareggio, the NCA yard formerly operated in the commercial shipbuilding sphere and offers an impressive array of facilities. With more than 200 employees, the yard covers an area of 100,000m², plenty of space to fulfil Admiral Tecnomar’s diversification of interests under the banner ‘The Italian Sea Group’, and enough room to new build yachts of up to a substantial 150 metres.

The Group’s core business plans include: yacht building, commercial work (under the existing NCA flag) and refit (under the NCA Refit flag). The refit side should prove particularly interesting, given the expansive facilities available to the Group.

Furthermore, the new management team is investing heavily into upgrading the yard’s sheds and office spaces, which will include extensive crew suites for those involved in both new build and refit projects. “Refit is a promising business and a sector in great expansion,” says Chairman of The Italian Sea Group, Giovanni Costantino. “We believe that our strategic position in the heart of the Mediterranean could present a critical success factor.”

Double Distinction For The New Admiral Impero 40 Cacos V

40-metre Cacos V is the first true testament of the new Admiral Tecnomar yard's focus on quality and innovation. Within six months of her launch, Cacos V had already gained two prestigious and internationally-recognised awards. First, from the Registro Italiano Navale (RINA), an award presented during the 2013 Monaco Yacht Show for being the most silent yacht in the world by achieving the highest ever scores in RINA's COMF test. Second, a Show Boats Design Award for best ‘Exterior Design and Styling Award’ in the 40 to 50 metre category, presented at a ceremony held in the spectacular Swarovski Crystal Worlds in Austria.
